Welcome to my soundboard, my dream factory, pensive avenue, jot-it-down-before-I-forget place, my post it note… my blog spot! Yes, it has begun, the infamous charge of my talents and skills all for you, my new patron, fan, and hopefully client, can enjoy. This side of the website is a place where I can give you my new obsessions, found favorites, life hack details, personal vent sessions, and of course, my love of discoveries in my life. One could have put me in the category of “picky” or “hyper-sensitive” growing up, but now I realize that was just a way I could express and work through all the hundreds of thoughts and adventures I wanted to have in each moment. May I also add, I probably had a touch of ADHD, but my mother was so in-tune with me, she placed me in art classes, music classes, and if there was a cantata or musical I was interested in, she was championing me in that too. Let’s just say I had a lot of stories to tell, music to sing, and toys to engage with and I did all that while still managing to be a kid.

Kami Kamaill—its certainly a different name and one that isn’t heard often, if ever. What’s up with this name? My fist name is Kami, not short for Cameron, or Camille, just Kami, but it is the namesake of my late Uncle Kamaill, who like many of his brothers, was named after his father. And not that that alone is a lovely story, but there’s more. Kamaill is actually the family name of my papaw, who came to the United States for a better life at the young age of 17. As my mother, uncles and aunts have told the story, papaw left Damascus, Syria after arguing with his father over family property and decided to take himself elsewhere… like to a ship bound for Providence, Rhode island, to be exact, to start a new life. Once he arrived into port, he presented his name to the authorities, of which the said name was Hussein Kamaill which officially was issued as Samuel Campbell. A bit jarring I’m sure, but he held his head high, and started that beautiful beginning, and one that took courage and lots of gumption. I never got to meet this courageous man but I am so grateful he leaped into a new life… met a beautiful woman in Kentucky, Berta, and they had 7 children of which my mother is the baby. When my mother had me, she and her sister-in-law were in discussion of whoever had their baby first would get the name “Kami” as it was certainly a unique name, but also a nod of honor and homage. Well, yours truly came out flying…I guess I made sure I claimed the name ￿ My cousin, who is named Keri, had the honor of being the daughter of Kamaill, who was the youngest son. She as well as her sisters were happy to allow me to use the said name Kamaill for my venture. Nothing but love and respect for the family and to the dream of our grandpa who yearned for a better life. Here’s to you papaw!

So that’s the story—maybe more of the cliff notes version, but family has been a big core of my world, and I’m happy to carry and protect this amazing name in a new light as a Lifestyle Concierge brand. Kami Kamaill is a brand, it is me, it is my family, but also, it’s an opportunity for you to experience the depths of expression and passion I have for creating beauty, function, and power. Power? What’s that have to do with being a concierge? Well… what I have found is once you are certain of who you are, and aware of your purpose in this life, the world is your adventure and oyster (though I prefer mine cooked!), this business is not only providing needs, but if you’ll allow it, you’ll learn a lot about yourself too. Redesigning a room, styling you for an event, staging your kitchen for that family gathering…it all takes trust, and allowing someone to help and assist. When we come together in projects, it really does unfold into a wonderful adventure, and one, I know, you’ll talk about for years.

Thank you for taking a few minutes out of your day to learn more about me. Can’t wait to meet you!!
